Education on life skills

Children in high school especially in year 10 and older should be taught about life skills such as finance, working and politics. This will hopefully help students who leave education and go into work have a strong idea of how to handle life situations. It will also involve more of the public who are old enough to vote more aware of politics and social issues which should make them more encouraged to vote.

Why the contribution is important

My idea will help both the student population and political campaigns, businesses and more as we will have more education on issues we have to handle as we get older.

Thanks for sharing your views @jessicaosheaa - do you have a view on how young people who do not receive their education in a traditional school setting (for example, home schooled or part of the Pupil Referral Unit (a type of school that caters for young people who aren’t able to attend a mainstream school. Pupils are often referred there if they need greater care and support than their school can provide) could be taught about politics and citizenship?
