Change the voting age of Nation Assembly elections to 16.

To change the voting age of Nation Assembly elections to 16 years of age at a minimum, due to the fact that, this will open up teaching in relation to politics and citizenship. I think that politics and citizenship should be made available more widely. I think also that resources should be made available to people who are getting thier education in a traditional school setting to help them be taught political and citizenships and be encouraged to excersize thier vote as such. I think that education around politics and citizenship needs to be throughly engaging, as people will not be interested in taking it, which represents a challenge within itself.

Why the contribution is important

Within the political times that we live in today with Brexit, the openess of British society, etc...I believe that people at 16 years of age, should excerise thier right to vote, as it will make Wales a more democratic country as a whole and this will open up teaching in relation to politics and citizenship, which requires a revolution in itself, due to Britian having the lowest voting turnout in Europe overall and all possible meassures should be taken to make sure that no one is exempt from taking part in his, or her countries affairs overall.

Thanks so much for sharing your views with us @KyleJamieEldridge - do you have a view on how people who don't receive their education in a traditional school setting (for example, if they are home schooled) can receive political and citizenship education?

    Rhys,

You are very welcome and yes I do. I believe that people who do not receive their education in a traditional school setting (Home schooled, etc.) should receive political and citizenship, on the grounds that if they do not receive it they can fall under the lure of the media's perception of different political parties and in this regard, I believe that he/she must be educated to enable them to make a fair choice on how they feel about their citizenship and political orientation, thus empowering free will into the hearts and minds of the young people of Wales as a whole.
